You are the client: one priority at a time
As the parent of a son with ADHD, I know how much effort daily life can take. Parent coaching gives you space to step back from the busiest moments and consider what you'd like to be different at home.
We choose one priority at a time (mornings, homework, screens, bedtime), try small practical changes, and review together what helps. It works for parents of children of any age.
What we might explore
- Mornings, homework, screens: one at a time
- Fewer reminders and calmer routines
- Understanding your child's perspective
- Where support is helpful, where expectations may need adjusting, and where your child is ready for more ownership
- Looking after yourself too
- Preparing for your child's assessment, or making sense of a new diagnosis
Homework and school
Coaching can help with the planning side of homework: finding the instructions, choosing a starting point, planning time, managing distractions, and checking work is handed in. Teaching the subject itself stays with teachers and tutors.
